deryks birthday!

It's a tradition on Deryk's Birthday(Valentines day) we alway get together to celebrate his special day. Not only because it is his birthday but because he shares it with Eliza's 1/2 birthday!
We always have dinner and Larson's Chocolate Cake and Banana Cream Pie!

Funny Story: When Mary and I went to pick up the cake and pie she was NOT happy about the writing on Deryk's cake. She "did not like it to say Big Stinker Pants" she was very serious about this and had to call Sherrie right away to tell her it was NOT appropriate! But by the end of the night she was and still is calling him Deryk Stinker Pants!

Okay funny story 2 about Mary (i can't resist): Background info you need for the story; we usually do not exchange gifts for the adults birthday's. So we are on the way home from picking up the cakes and have settled the stinker pants thing and then Mary says from the back seat,

Mary: Hey, Mom presents are for Birthday's and Christmas! We NEED to get Deryk a present!
Mom: No, Meme we aren't getting Deryk a present
Mary: Yes we are! He NEEDS a bone!
Mom: A bone?
Mary: Yes, weeeellll......... maybe a Queen and King.
Mom: A Queen and King, huh
Mary: No...... a Prince and Queen. Mom Deryk needs a present!
Mom: Okay, we will go to target.
Mary: Sucker! (okay she didn't say this one, but I am sure she thought it!)

At target we couldn't find a king /prince and queen. But found some acceptable Nerf guns. She was only going to get him one if she could have one too. Of course I obliged the sucker I am ;)
Check out the pictures below from out Nerf Gun WAR!

A very fun time was had by all!

Happy Birthday Deryk!

Looks like you guys had a blast!

If you are going to be a sucker, it's best to be a sucker to your kids. After all, they are only young once. Way to go mom!!

I loved your two stories, Mary sounds like such a cutie! Your girls are at fun ages too where I bet they say lots of funny stuff :) So I had to tell you, guess what my new calling is... Laurel Advisor!! haha Am I really old enough to do that now?! :) Seems like yesterday you were my leader in Beehives!! I hope I do as great a job as you did with us, and make the girls excited to come like you did :) Miss ya!!
