Eliza had to do an end of year presentation. It was a bug report. The kids are so fun to watch when they are sharing all the information they found. Eliza decided to do her report on the June Bug. She is so interested in June bugs because Ryan put one in a big mound of drywall mud years ago (pre-kids) and we still have the rock of drywall mud. Eliza has heard the story many times. And last summer we found the June bugs hissing on our front porch all the time. I guess this was pretty interesting for the teacher too. She couldn't remember ever having a June Bug report in past years. I think that was great Eliza totally picked a unique bug to learn about! It is fun to watch the video but you can't really hear Eliza talking she was kind of quiet.

I wanna ride too.....
Well I think it is finally time to get Mary a bike. She love to get on Eliza's but it is actually quite dangerous. She has absolutely no fear when it comes to her and this bike. She tries to climb on and go.
Maybe a smaller helmet too ;)

May 12th
May 12th Ryan's 34th birthday and Eliza's recital.
Ryan's portion, the birthday part of the day was fairly uneventful. Except for the small fire on his cake. 34 small fires to be exact! He is still a cutie pie Ryan has been dealing with a hurt toe so he has taken post on the couch most of the time. He hasn't been able to do much this last month because of his poor toe. He had a minor toe surgery on the 8th and has had a hard time walking it was pretty sore. Then, it got infected and so more pain and suffering. And to top off all the inconvenience with his toe, his parents moved to Utah on the 25th and he was trying to get their basement here in Washington finished so they could close the sell and move. He did get it done. His parents were very patient with him and Ryan was a trooper through it all. Many long days standing and walking on that poor toe. So needless to say on his birthday he just hung out. We were going to go bowling, that is what Eliza wanted to do for Dad's birthday, but not with that darn toe!
Eliza's piano recital....She did a great job! We were really proud of Eliza. She has been taking piano for just about a year. We aren't the best parents about remembering to make her practice and being constant. We even often forget to send her to her lesson. It is across the street so I often just loose track of time and neglect to send her out the door with her books. BAD MOMMY! But it is true. However, in April I was getting kind of worried that she had really been missing a lot of lessons and the recital was quickly approaching. She didn't have a song pick out to memorize and I was thinking this was going to be pretty hard for her to memorize in a couple weeks, remember we forget to have her practice. So anyway she picked a song totally took responsibility and remembered to practice mostly on her own and she totally had it memorized in less than a week. She did a great job. She is liking piano but I think she is just toughing out piano until we in to guitar lessons. She wants 'to be a Rock Star you know and they play the guitar'. So she has to get proficient at piano then she can add guitar.
